Rotate the engine to top dead center for #1 cylinder, taking care to align any cam or crank marks. If it’s a pushrod engine, there’s no cam gear and belt or chain connecting it to the crank, so the head can just lift off. Not much different than most 350s of the time. Flat top cast pistons, 64cc heads with 1.94 intakes. The L48 used camshaft 3896929 part, 3896930 casting that had a 0.390/0.410-inch intake/exhaust lifts.
