WebI'm a medical students and here is what we have been told: St. John's Wort is a mild antidepressant (MAO-b inhibitor) and is good for mild depression, however it has high drug drug interaction. It lowers the concentration of other drugs by activating cytochrome p450 in your liver. So it should not be taken if you are taking other drugs!!!
